Toney Anaya (born April 29, 1941) is an American politician and attorney who served as the 26th governor of New Mexico from 1983 to 1987. Born in Moriarty, New Mexico, he attended New Mexico Highlands University before receiving a B.A. from Georgetown University and a J.D. from the Washington College of Law at American University. He worked for the late Senator Dennis Chavez and as an executive assistant in the U.S. Department of State. From 1966 to 1969, Anaya was legislative counsel to U.S....
